The eighth edition of Cine Diversidade returns to Rio de Janeiro and strengthens the city as a Latin American showcase for new audiovisual perspectives. The festival features Brazilian and Latin American short films at the Museum of Art of Rio, Arena Carioca Dicró, Cine Bela Maré and Casa Bosque.

The event expands its thematic scope to address gender, sexuality, territory and contemporary modes of existence.

This expansion reflects the work of directors Karina de Abreu and Karla Suarez, cofounders of ColetivA DELAS.

“The festival is not just a short film showcase,” says Karina. “It has become a strategic space for discussing climate crisis, race, territory and sexual diversity.”

Activity prologue

On November 26 and 27, the festival begins with an online screenwriting workshop led by Germana Belo.
