Tailored icy enrichments for each species

Summer brings a fun twist to BioParque do Rio. Animals enjoy custom refreshments suited to their needs. The jaguar, for instance, gets a boomer ball in the pool for physical and sensory play.

Next, the spectacled bear explores a blue ice block. Otters play with colorful ice balls. Maned wolves receive blood ice treats, prepared by biologists and vets.

Orangutans savor watermelon popsicles. Finally, capuchin and spider monkeys cool off with melon popsicles. Thus, the event boosts animal welfare in the heat.

Activity schedule

Events start at 1 PM in this order: jaguar, spectacled bear, otters, maned wolves, orangutans, capuchin/spider monkeys. Visitors can watch up close.
