Free concert celebrates ten years of Débora di Sá’s “Maria Grampinho” at CCUFG, blending theater, circus, and the music of Goiás.
The singer, composer, and performing artist Débora di Sá returns to the stage to celebrate a decade of her acclaimed show “Maria Grampinho”. The anniversary performance takes place on Thursday, March 26, at 8 p.m., at the UFG Cultural Center, with free admission on a first-come basis.
Through 13 original songs, the show tells the story of Maria Grampinho, a real figure from the popular culture of the city of Goiás. A Black woman and person with disabilities, she lived for years in poet Cora Coralina’s basement and became a symbolic presence in regional folklore.
“Maria Grampinho” blends elements of storytelling, music, and circus arts, guiding the audience through a poetic musical narrative. The repertoire draws from Brazilian rhythms such as catira, folia, baião, frevo, and maracatu.
Created in 2016 as a musical album, the project evolved into a full stage production that toured several cultural festivals and SESC units. In recent years, it has been featured in Rio de Janeiro (SESC Pulsar, 2025) and Bahia (SESC Jacobina, 2026).
On stage with Débora di Sá are Ingrid Lobo (guitar), Sávio Gonçalves (keyboard), Sérgio Pato (percussion), and Daniela Frisson (accordion). Production by Gilberto Correia.
