After a month of performances that captivated audiences with physical comedy, scenic imagination and a story told entirely through gesture, the show reaches its final weekend. Performances take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m. and are recommended for children aged 5 and up.

Cervantes retold through body and silence

Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes‘ timeless classic, the production offers a contemporary retelling of the dreaming knight and his loyal squire Sancho Panza. The chosen language is mime and physical theater: gesture, humor and the transformation of everyday objects drive the entire narrative — no words required.

On stage, ordinary items like funnels, teapots, feather dusters and trash can lids become characters, landscapes and imaginary creatures. Giants turn into windmills. Teapots turn into telescopes. The line between reality and fantasy dissolves — and the spirit of Cervantes lives on.

Alvaro Assad and Marcio Moura take the stage

The show is directed and performed by Alvaro Assad as Don Quixote, alongside Marcio Moura as Sancho Panza. The duo guides audiences through a comic and poetic adventure with precise physicality and powerful visual storytelling.

The production bets on the power of the body and the imagination to create a world where reality and fantasy blur, keeping Cervantes’ essence fully alive.

Three decades of physical theater in Brazil

With over three decades of history, Cia Etc e Tal has established itself as one of Brazil’s leading references in physical theater and mime. The company is known for an original artistic language that blends gestural comedy, bodily precision and strong visual communication.

Don Quixote is part of the ETC e TAL 30+ project, celebrating the company’s milestone anniversary and its enduring presence on the Brazilian stage. For those who haven’t seen it yet, this weekend is the last chance.
