On November 8, visitors can enjoy a guided tour, book launch and play celebrating São Paulo’s electrical history.

The Energy Museum of São Paulo hosts a free program on Saturday, November 8, celebrating the history of electricity and the city through art, memory, and education. The agenda includes a guided visit, book launch, and theatrical performance.

Theatrical performance

At 11 a.m., the public can watch the play “The Arrival of Electricity in São Paulo”, performed by the Casa das Amoras company. Inspired by the “Eletromemória” exhibition, the show offers a playful and artistic experience about the impact of electricity on city life.

Guided tour

At 2 p.m., curator Leandro Melo leads the tour through the exhibition “Eletromemória: A Light Reveals São Paulo”, highlighting how electricity transformed the city’s landscape and daily life. The activity takes place on the ground floor and classroom areas, with no registration required.

Book launch

At 3 p.m., filmmaker and researcher Diaulas Ullysses launches his book “The Workers Who Built the Billings Dam”, celebrating the centennial of the reservoir. The event will be held in Room 5, with copies donated to the Foundation for Energy and Sanitation Library.

The author, known for his work on regional cinema and memory in Greater ABC, shares stories of men and women who faced the Atlantic Forest to build one of Brazil’s major engineering projects. The book blends historical accuracy with artistic sensitivity, preserving memories and challenges from this era.
