About 15 three-dimensional works showcase unique creative processes. Free admission highlights experiments from the Casa da Armação atelier in Rio Tavares.

Dialogues of matter and gesture

The artists share a studio space but pursue distinct paths. High-temperature clay sculptures employ varied building and finishing techniques. Aluminum casts broaden talks on form and spatial presence.

Developed over two years, pieces bear traces of the process: formal choices and creative challenges. The show launches Florianópolis Sculpture Nucleus.

“The exhibit invites viewers to spot these differences, fostering close observation of dialogues between matter, gesture, and intent, reaffirming sculpture as an ever-evolving field,” notes Marcelo Mello.

Sculptor, teacher, and mentor at Casa da Armação atelier, Marcelo displays his works alongside students’. First joint show for the group.

Free visits in Rio Tavares

The exhibit fills the entrance hall of Associação Sagres, Rua da Macela 80, Rio Tavares. Open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, free entry from January 15.
