Inspired by Manuel Bandeira’s poem, “O Que Eu Vejo É O Beco” gathers ten artists at Fundação Cultural Badesc Garden in Florianópolis.
Based on Bandeira’s poem “O Beco,” the exhibition challenges the traditional idea of landscape by shifting focus from the horizon to the narrow, lived space of everyday life. Curated by Kamilla Nunes, the show opens on April 2 at 7 p.m. with free admission.
The lineup includes Bruna Granucci, Diane Spagnuelo, Gustavo Scheidt, Jessica Pellegrini, Mariana Colin, OTropicalista, Raquel Stolf, Sara Ramos, and Tainá Sant’ana. Their works bring together objects, installations, interventions, and sound experiments that explore the friction between body, city, and territory.
“Our location is inescapable. The place is crucial,” says curator Kamilla Nunes, quoting Edouard Glissant.
Installed in the garden, the exhibition creates a symbolic meeting between two spaces: the alley — marginal and confined — and the garden, associated with cultivation and slow transformation. This dialogue builds a reflection on visibility, memory, and presence in contemporary landscapes.
The artists’ propositions reveal the landscape as a living and political territory, full of crossings and interruptions that invite a more attentive gaze.
