Sold-out crowds and Thalita Rebouças onstage for the first time: Brazil’s hit musical comedy adds extra shows on March 22 and 29 at Rio’s iconic Roxy.

The overwhelming box-office demand for Fala Sério, Mãe! – Elas só mudam de endereço (Seriously, Mom! — They Just Change Addresses) has prompted producers to open new dates. The extra sessions take place on Sundays, March 22 and 29, at 2 p.m., with doors opening at noon and a special lunch menu available. The season closes on March 29.

Regular performances continue at 4:30 p.m. on March 21, 22, 28 and 29. Since its premiere on January 8, the show has been drawing full houses at the Roxy in Copacabana by blending humor, emotion and relatable everyday family dynamics.

Thalita Rebouças takes the stage for the first time

After 25 years as one of Brazil’s most beloved authors, Thalita Rebouças makes her acting debut in this production. She plays Ângela Cristina, an intense, loving and wonderfully over-the-top mother who becomes the emotional anchor of the show.

The script was co-written by Thalita and Gustavo Reiz. General direction is by Abel Gomes, theatrical direction by Tauã Delmiro and musical direction by Tony Lucchesi. The production is a joint effort by SRCOM and Accioly Entretenimento.

An immersive 140 m² stage experience

One of the show’s most striking elements is its digital scenography, designed by Igor Corrêa on a 140 m² screen built exclusively for the Roxy. The screen transforms into a living backdrop, continuously interacting with the nearly 30 performers onstage.

The 80-minute show blends original songs with multigenerational hits. Costumes by Cláudia Kopke, set design by Tuca Mariana, lighting by Paulo Cesar Medeiros and makeup by Beto Carramanhos round out the visual experience.

Lead roles: Thalita Rebouças (Ângela Cristina) and Cella Bártholo (Malu). Mothers: Cristiana Pompeo, Érika Affonso, Ester Dias and Ingrid Klug. Children: Alan Ribeiro, Caio Loureiro, Caio Nery, Clara Novais, Duda Alves, Eloá Ataíde (alternate), Esther Samuel (alternate), Maria Esff, Sara Chaves and Yasmin Tozzi. Mothers’ Chorus: Aline Carrocino, Carol Futuro and Fernanda Sabot. Children’s Chorus: Bruna Negendank, Brunno Pastori, J.R. Moreno, Júlia Araújo, Lara Leão, Laura Trentin, Lyana Freitas, Mariana Barreto, Paulo Becken, Paula Tavares and Vinícius Pieri.

Food with an emotional twist

The experience extends to the table with a separate snack menu curated by Chef Caio Silva, inspired by comfort food and nostalgic flavors. Options include toast with cheese cream and confit tomato (R$ 65), tuna crudo with rice cracker (R$ 95), a mix of Serra da Canastra cheese and beef pastries (R$ 75), tapioca bites with sweet pepper jelly (R$ 55), french fries (R$ 45) and mini hot dogs, 3 units (R$ 61).
