Twenty-eight artists reimagine paradise as poetic and critical territory, opening April 4 at Fábrica Bhering in Rio de Janeiro.
Galeria DOBRA and ARTNOVA join forces to present Fantastic Paradises (Paraísos Fantásticos), a group exhibition that brings together works of diverse artistic languages around one compelling question: what does paradise mean today? The show treats the concept as an imaginary, subjective, and poetic space — far from any fixed or comfortable definition.
Memory, Utopia, and Contemporary Critique
The works on display move across mental landscapes, personal fictions, and affective memories. There is also room for utopias and, inevitably, for sharp critical visions of the contemporary world. Each artist brings their own version of a possible — or deliberately impossible — paradise.
That diversity of perspectives is what makes Fantastic Paradises a compelling collective experience. The show does not seek consensus. Instead, it opens up the field of the imagination and invites visitors to question their own certainties about happiness, belonging, and desire.

The Bhering Circuit as Stage
The exhibition is part of the Circuito Bhering, a recurring art event that transforms the historic Fábrica Bhering, in the Santo Cristo neighborhood, into one of Rio de Janeiro’s most vibrant contemporary art hubs. The preserved industrial architecture of the building provides a striking backdrop for the poetic and imaginary works on view.
