Drawing from the exhibition “Beleza habitada: Eva Klabin, fashion and memories”, the Casa Museu Eva Klabin has unveiled a rich educational program in partnership with the Laboratório Carioca de Moda (Rio Fashion Lab). Running from February 18 through May 24, 2026, the initiative brings together scholars and specialists in Fashion, Arts, and Humanities to expand on the themes of the show.

Open through May 24, the exhibition weaves together visual arts, clothing, furniture, and social life to reveal how Eva Klabin built a singular aesthetic synthesis over decades. Curated by Helena Severo and Brunno Almeida Maia, with scenography by Leandro Leão, it marks the first public presentation of a wide array of the collector’s personal wardrobe — dresses, hats, shoes, gloves, letters, and sound recordings — displayed alongside the permanent collection.

Online courses

Exhibition curator Brunno Almeida Maia leads “Philosophy and Aesthetics of Fashion”, a four-session course weaving together Freud, Walter Benjamin, Foucault, Marx, and Byung-Chul Han to examine how fashion shapes individual expression. Classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7–10 PM, on February 24 & 26 and March 3 & 5. Fee: R$ 420.

Julia Falcone presents “The Silk Routes in a Wardrobe”, tracing silk’s journey through Europe, Asia, and Brazil as a lens for exploring global production, circulation, and consumption. Classes on Wednesdays and Fridays, 7–10 PM, February 18, 20, 25 & 27. Fee: R$ 390.

Priscila Monteiro leads “The Evolution of Luxury and New Challenges”, exploring how luxury remains relevant amid dupes, AI, cancel culture, and Gen Z and Alpha consumption habits. Classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7–10 PM, March 2, 4, 9 & 11. Fee: R$ 390.

Silvia Helena Soares teaches “Diversity in Fashion”, offering critical reflection on representation, inclusion, and the plurality of bodies, identities, genders, and cultures. Classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7–10 PM, March 16, 18, 23 & 25. Fee: R$ 390.

In-person activities

Researcher Paulo Deborn leads the in-person course “Dressing Time: Worth and Poiret in Contemporary Galleries”, offering a critical reading of fashion through recent Parisian exhibitions dedicated to Maison Worth and Paul Poiret. February 26 (Thursday), 2–5 PM, at Casa Museu Eva Klabin. Fee: R$ 80.

On February 28 (Saturday), 1–3:30 PM, historian Silvia Helena Soares teaches “Fashion Expression and Art Movements”, analyzing clothing as a historical document in dialogue with the Baroque, Neoclassicism, and modernist avant-gardes. Fee: R$ 80.

Also on February 28, from 4–6 PM, the free talk “Eva Klabin’s Collectionism” gathers Brunno Almeida Maia, Luiz Aquila, and Vanda Klabin for a conversation on the formation of the collection and Eva Klabin’s role in Brazilian cultural life. Free admission.

The Casa Museu begins 2026 as a space for exchanging ideas and learning in the present, maintaining a constant dialogue with the past and finding its originality in the blend of the classic and the contemporary.

Costume designer Marie Salles leads the workshop “Costume Design: History and Creative Processes”, covering research methods, character creation, and project development. Saturdays, March 14 & 21, 2–5 PM, at Casa Museu Eva Klabin. Fee: R$ 720.

Veronica Black teaches “Fashion Illustration Studio”, covering fashion sketching fundamentals — proportion, color, and fabric rendering — in dialogue with the exhibition. Wednesdays and Fridays, 2–5 PM, March 11, 13, 18, 20 & 25, at Casa Museu. Fee: R$ 720.

At Espaço Draft (Tijuca), Elaine Radiceti and Cynara Lourenço lead “Draping – Three-Dimensional Pattern Making”, exploring moulage as a design language, including the translation of draping into flat patterns. Classes run March 3 through April 4, on Saturdays (10 AM–5 PM) and Tuesdays and Wednesdays (2–5 PM). Fee: R$ 1,490.
