Feira de Ideias returns for its 8th edition at Sesc 24 de Maio

From December 5 to 6, Sesc 24 de Maio hosts the 8th Feira de Ideias, presenting projects that promote human rights across Brazil.

Organized by Conectas Direitos Humanos in partnership with Sesc 24 de Maio, the 8th Feira de Ideias brings together 20 projects from different regions of Brazil focused on promoting and defending human rights. The event is part of the International Human Rights Day celebration, held on December 10, and takes place with free admission on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Diverse themes and perspectives

The exhibition highlights projects that use art, photography, audiovisual language, and journalism as tools for social and political engagement. Themes include migration, racial justice, gender equity, LGBTQIA+ rights, climate action, prison and education systems, and combating misinformation.

Program highlights

Conversações – Curated talks mediated by Angel Natan take place on December 5 and 6, at 3 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. Participants share transformative experiences from selected projects. Duration: 90 minutes. Free admission. Ground floor.

Libertat: Between Dreams and Strings – On December 5, at 6 p.m. The LIBERTAT group blends Latin and Andean musical traditions with symphonic elements, celebrating identity and migration. Duration: 60 minutes. Free admission. Ground floor.

Lighting Solidarity, Transcending Authoritarianism – With Glaucia Marinho (Justiça Global) and Julia Neiva (Conectas). Mediated by Bianca Santana. On December 6 at 11:30 a.m. The discussion addresses global democracy challenges and celebrates the 20th anniversary of Sur – International Journal on Human Rights. Duration: 90 minutes. Free admission.

Financial Sustainability – Challenges and Strategies for Human Rights Projects – With Allyne Andrade (Fundo Brasil), Gugo Siqueira (Rede Comuá), and Paulo Malvezzi (Agência Diadorim). Moderated by Leon Souza. December 6, at 4 p.m. Discussion on funding human rights initiatives. Duration: 90 minutes. Free admission.
