First-time solo exhibitions at Badesc

The Paulo Gaiad 2026 Open Call – First Solo Exhibition, organized by Fundação Cultural Badesc, has announced its four selected projects. Out of 41 submissions received from seven cities across the state of Santa Catarina — Blumenau, Chapecó, Florianópolis, Governador Celso Ramos, Nova Veneza, Palhoça, and São José — four visual artists earning their very first solo show were chosen to occupy the Espaço Paulo Gaiad throughout 2026.

The selection committee, composed of Fundação Cultural Badesc staff, reviewed projects spanning a wide range of visual arts practices before reaching a final decision.

The selected projects

Giovana Tartas will present “Antes de Voltar a Terra” (Before Returning to Earth); Guilherme Bruschi brings “Outros Tipos de Palavras” (Other Kinds of Words); Heloisa Panuci exhibits “Imagem e Semelhança” (Image and Likeness); and Karine Abbati signs “Estranhamento do Possível” (The Strangeness of the Possible). Each selected artist will receive a production grant of R$ 1,000.

Opening night in March

The first exhibition of the cycle opens on March 12, 2026, at 7 PM. Admission is free, and the space is open Monday through Friday, from 1 PM to 7 PM, at Fundação Cultural Badesc.
