Environmental play uses humor and poetry to teach kids about sustainability, with free admission and full accessibility in eight cities.
The Environmental Children’s Theater Circuit kicks off in April with the play “Pasqualino and Nature”, blending art, entertainment, and environmental awareness. The free tour will visit Atibaia, Bom Jesus dos Perdões, Cabreúva, Caieiras, Francisco Morato, Franco da Rocha, Mairiporã, and Santa Isabel.
The first stop is Franco da Rocha, on April 8 and 9, with performances at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Centro Cultural Newton Gomes de Sá. The story offers a poetic and playful approach to environmental care, inspiring children and families to reflect on sustainability and empathy.
Directed and performed by Marcya Harco, Pasqualino is a kind-hearted and clumsy hero who faces the Shadow — a symbol of nature’s threats — played by Érica Franze. This unusual casting of two women in lead roles challenges traditional gender roles and expands inclusivity in children’s theater.
“Pasqualino and Nature” turns environmental education into wonder, opening children’s eyes to the beauty of the planet.
Inspired by silent cinema, physical theater, and clowning, the performance uses no dialogue, encouraging the audience to observe and interpret through imagination. All sessions include sign language interpretation, audio description, and accessibility guides.
The play is produced by Cia. Lúdica (@cialudica), founded by Marcya Harco and Paulo Drumond in 1994, known for linking art and social responsibility. The project is sponsored by Neoenergia and the Instituto Neoenergia through the Transforming Energy into Culture program under Brazil’s federal cultural incentive law.
