Pro training in Rio’s favela heart

The Escola de Teatro Solar Meninos de Luz, partnering with MUSA Cia Teatral, opens spots for artists with experience. It features the MUSA Method – Musical Acting System, developed by Sotiris Karamesinis and led by Cheila Oliveira, UNIRIO master’s in Performing Arts.

Classes run Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30pm to 8:30pm, March to December, in Pavão-Pavãozinho, Rio’s South Zone. Free for one year, it offers cultural exchange and Brazil-wide performances.

Stage triumphs since launch

Since 2021, grads starred in hits like Margem Invisível, opening the 3rd National Nova Cena Festival in Itajaí (2025). Standouts: O Renascer da Esperança at Copacabana Palace and O Nariz by Gogol in national fests.

Also, Por Trás do Sonho, Shakespeare-inspired, touring Rio venues.
