Grupo Pela VIDDA RJ presents Solidarity Night for Life with Suzy Brasil and artists in support of HIV and AIDS awareness.
On December 9, Tuesday, at 7 p.m., the Grupo Pela VIDDA Rio de Janeiro will hold the charity event “A Noite Solidária Pela Vida” at the Teatro Firjan SESI Centro. The evening celebrates art, diversity, and solidarity through music and drag performances that promote HIV and AIDS awareness and fight discrimination.
Suzy Brasil will open the show, followed by performances from drag queens Lili Carabina, Samara Rios, Andreia Andrews, Danny D’Avallon, Drag Capitu, Luiza Gasparelly, Organzza, and Thérèze M. Singers Fhernanda Fernandes, Leila Maria, Nana Kozak, Simone Mazzer, and Raphael Borges will also perform.
Founded in 1989 by writer and activist Herbert Daniel, Grupo Pela VIDDA RJ was the first Brazilian organization created by people living with HIV and AIDS, alongside their friends and families. The nonprofit focuses on health promotion, social inclusion, and human rights through volunteer work and partnerships with public and private organizations.
The NGO pioneered initiatives such as the Disque-Aids Pela VIDDA, Brazil’s first HIV/AIDS public information hotline, and free legal and psychological support for LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially transgender people. It also conducts rapid HIV testing and health education programs across the state.
Committed to social transformation and political advocacy, the organization participates in health councils and public forums while promoting community mobilization and anti-stigma efforts. Maintaining its work depends on continued public and institutional support.
