Exhibition presents 18 photographs of participants in the Marcha da Vida, including visits to concentration camps in Poland.
Kovak & Vieira Gallery opens on November 25 the group exhibition “Herança da vida”. The photos were taken during the annual educational experience organized by Rabbis David and Berel Weitman, including visits to Auschwitz-Birkenau. In 2025, 80 people participated between April and May.
Curatorial text by Carlos Reiss, coordinator of the Holocaust Museum of Curitiba. The exhibition was conceived by Greicy Khafif, Marcelo Cohen and Mari Vieira, with Roger Supino curating the works. “The exhibition aims to transform the memory of death into an affirmation of life,” says Reiss.
The number 18 symbolizes life. “We want to show that we survived; even after all the horror, we are alive,” comments Roger Supino. The images depict concentration camps turned into museums, emphasizing memory and education.
The works are numbered, with up to five copies each, priced symbolically at R$ 1,800, with 65% of proceeds donated to associations chosen by the artists. The Jewish Immigration and Holocaust Memorial of São Paulo supports the exhibition.
