Leitura Bookstore will open its new location on December 5 at Norte Shopping, expanding its presence in Rio de Janeiro’s North Zone. The 525 m² store is the brand’s 132nd unit and offers an extensive selection of books, stationery, manga, comics, educational games, and creative gifts. Expectations are high for Christmas sales and the upcoming back-to-school season.

“Having a presence at Norte Shopping was essential. The region has a strong audience but lacked a bookstore of this scale,” says Rodrigo Silva Bernardes, managing partner at Leitura.

The new location brings the brand’s footprint to 12 stores in the capital, 14 in Greater Rio, and 16 across the state, reinforcing Leitura’s position as one of Brazil’s largest bookstore chains.

Books and cultural experience

Founded 58 years ago, Leitura is known for its diverse range, from literary classics to the latest bestsellers. Its stores serve as cultural spaces designed for reading, interaction, and discovery. By the end of 2025, the network will total 133 stores across Brazil.

Exclusive HarperCollins partnership

A new partnership with HarperCollins Brasil brings exclusive cover editions of timeless trilogies such as “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “The Lord of the Rings,” which will be available in all Leitura stores nationwide.

The collaboration also introduces previously unpublished Agatha Christie titles in Brazil, including “Winter Mysteries” and “Summer Mysteries,” featuring unique covers and special editions for collectors and mystery lovers.
