One of Latin America’s leading creative and educational spaces, the Museu da Imaginação in São Paulo has a packed schedule for the April long weekend. From April 18 to 21, the museum brings together a brand-new live installation, 16 interactive exhibitions, and performances designed for the whole family.

Folklore, legends, and sustainability on stage

The show “Cuidando do Meio Ambiente” (Caring for the Environment), performed by the Turma do Folclore (Folklore Crew), blends entertainment with education. Through Brazilian folk legends, the performance addresses themes of sustainability and environmental preservation in an accessible, engaging way for audiences of all ages.

Storytelling sessions take place on April 18, 19, 20, and 21 at 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM, on the museum’s second floor, in front of the Volta ao Mundo exhibition.

Artist builds Greek islands in real time

The other highlight of the weekend is artist and model-builder Isaiah Durand, who will construct a brand-new Greek island diorama live inside the Volta ao Mundo exhibition. The piece features intricate scenes referencing Athens, ancient Greek vessels, the legend of the Minotaur, and the Trojan Horse.

Visitors can watch the entire process unfold and interact with Durand on April 18, 20, and 21, from 9 AM to 6 PM, on the second floor inside the exhibition.

The museum’s largest exhibition

Volta ao Mundo – A Journey Through Time is the museum’s flagship exhibition. Built with over one million building blocks, it spans 600 square meters across 17 rooms, featuring more than 30 scale models created by artists from around the world. The journey covers six Eras of human history: Ancient, Classical, Medieval, Modern, Contemporary, and Imagination.

Special ticket pricing for the holiday

During the holiday weekend, admission is available for R$ 89.90 — a promotional price lower than the standard half-price ticket of R$ 130. Tickets are available through the museum’s website or the Sympla platform.

Founded in 2017, the Museu da Imaginação is a nonprofit association committed to making creative and educational experiences accessible to children, teenagers, and families.
