War Crimes leads the exclusive titles
War Crimes (Here be Dragons) follows David Locke, a former British soldier turned war crimes investigator. When a survivor of the Yugoslav War claims to have located Ivan Novak — a commander everyone believed dead — David travels to Belgrade against his superiors’ orders to bring him to justice.
Directed by Alastair Newton Brown, the film stars Nathan Sapsford, Slobodan Bestic (A Serbian Film) and Marija Bergam (Black Sun).
Italian comedy flips growing up upside down
BigGer (Da Grandi) is the week’s comedic highlight. Four inseparable friends who feel neglected by their parents make the same birthday wish: to become adults. The next morning, they wake up with their parents’ age — but with the minds of children.
Directed by Fausto Brizzi, the cast includes Enrico Brignano (Asterix at the Olympic Games), Ilenia Pastorelli (Dark Glasses), Luca Bizzarri and Paolo Kessisoglu (The Four Fathers).
A legendary hero rides again
The Ballad of Davy Crockett sends the legendary American folk hero into the dangerous frontier wilderness of 1815 to rescue his children from a ruthless baron. The film blends action, adventure, and suspense in a gripping historical tale.
Directed by Derek Estlin Purvis, starring Jesse Hutch (The Refuge), William Moseley (The Royals) and Colm Meaney (Kill ‘em All).
Hungarian romance is the week’s pick
The recommended title this week is Blue Fox (Kék róka), a Hungarian romantic comedy. Cecília is about to get married when she falls for a stranger — who turns out to be Sándor, her fiancé’s best friend and future best man at their wedding.
