3D projections and a live symphonic score take over Sé Cathedral: LUMINISCENCE opens today in São Paulo, tickets from \(R\$ 75\).
After drawing more than one million people worldwide, the immersive show LUMINISCENCE – Lights of São Paulo makes its Brazil debut this Friday, January 16, inside Sé Cathedral—one of the most iconic landmarks in downtown São Paulo.
The experience blends three-dimensional light projections with a symphonic soundtrack performed live by an orchestra and choir. The result turns the monument itself into the stage, with sound and light designed to amplify the building’s scale and details.
Tickets are available on Fever, starting at \(R\$ 75\). Performances run in January and February, Thursday through Sunday, with two sessions per day and capacity for 676 people per session.
What LUMINISCENCE is
Created in France by LOTCHI (a Banijay Live company), LUMINISCENCE became an international cultural phenomenon by transforming cathedrals and basilicas into immersive art venues. The show has toured across France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and the United States.
In Europe, it has held 19 seasons—often running for months—in cities including Paris, Nice, Münster, Barcelona, Delft, and Brussels. Original musical arrangements, projections that interact with the architecture, and a live choir form a fully immersive journey where light becomes storytelling.
Why Sé Cathedral matters
In São Paulo, Sé Cathedral strengthens the project’s core idea of connecting art, technology, history, and architecture. The visuals are designed to “respond” to the landmark’s forms and textures, shifting how audiences perceive the space as the show unfolds.
Endemol Shine Brazil goes live
The Brazil edition is produced by Endemol Shine Brazil, part of Banijay Americas. The debut also signals the company’s expansion into live entertainment and immersive experiences.
“LUMINISCENCE – Lights of São Paulo reinforces Endemol Shine Brazil’s commitment to 360° entertainment—beyond screens—creating genuine connections through in-person, memorable experiences,” said Nani Freitas, CEO of Endemol Shine Brazil.
For the French creators, São Paulo adds a new chapter to a project built around monumental spaces and shared emotion.
“Expanding LUMINISCENCE to Brazil marks a new and beautiful chapter in our journey. Sé Cathedral offers an extraordinary canvas where light, music, and architecture will come alive,” said Romain Sarfati, co-founder of LOTCHI.
“Live events are fundamental to Banijay Americas’ evolution, and we look forward to building meaningful connections through narratives that celebrate architectural wonders and the rich tapestry of history,” said Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas.
On the brand side, Endemol Shine Brazil also positions the show as a platform for partnerships tied to culture and innovation.
“More than a cultural initiative, LUMINISCENCE is an opportunity for brands to be part of an experience that brings together history, art, and technology,” said Fernanda Abreu, VP of Live Entertainment, Licensing, and Influencer Marketing at Endemol Shine Brazil.
