The Aurora Cultural portal conducted an exclusive interview with Marcelo Fritz, creator of the 2nd Encontro das Nações – Knowledge of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The event takes place on November 22 and 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Museu da República in Catete, with free admission.
The program includes Portela, Awurê, Cacique de Ramos, capoeira, maculelê, film screenings, more than 90 exhibitors and performances by the Pataxó and Maracanã villages.
With activities for all ages, the event promotes an immersion in the cultural diversity of Rio de Janeiro.

The Encontro das Nações explores multiple artistic expressions. What connects such diverse manifestations?
Their origins, ancestral roots that are strong and serve as examples of resistance.
The program is extensive. Is there a highlight that moves you the most?
Each one has its touch and fundamental ingredients in the whole.
The curatorship also includes fashion and gastronomy. How does that connect with the event’s concept?
Everything expresses something and adds a touch that will make all the difference, the event is a child that will develop, as we are only in the 2nd edition.
Does art also have an educational role in the event?
With each approach, whether through a gaze or a question, the spectator will have the opportunity to obtain answers from a source of knowledge through direct contact with the artisan and artist.
And what is the role of the audience in this artistic experience?
It is essential because the audience will be the transmitter to society of the message received during the event.
