Maria Eugênia Tita brings two shows to Cais do Porto

Maria Eugênia Tita presents “Cabeção pelo Mundo”, “Pássará” and the workshop “Danças Brasileiras” with free admission.

São Paulo–born multiartist Maria Eugênia Tita joins the Em Boa Companhia project, created by Companhia Ensaio Aberto, offering two shows and a workshop. The performances “Cabeção pelo Mundo” and “Pássará” take place on November 21, 22 and 23 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The workshop “Danças Brasileiras” will be held on November 20 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All activities are free of charge.

The workshop invites participants to expand their movement repertoire through games, exercises and corporal techniques that strengthen listening, creativity and attention.

“Cabeção pelo Mundo” was created in 2005 for “Nove de Fevereiro”, by Antônio Nóbrega, celebrating the centenary of frevo. The piece grew out of Tita’s long-term work manipulating large-format puppets and draws inspiration from the traditional Cabeçudos of Pará.

In “Pássará”, Tita performs with singer and instrumentalist Cimara Fróis. The show reflects on motherhood with humor and tenderness, mixing dance, masked numbers and music. The audience is welcomed with tea and blankets in a child-friendly environment.

For the artist, the performance seeks to “rock mothers to rest”, offering a moment of lightness in demanding early years of parenting. Improvisation plays a key role, with the audience participating in a fluid and spontaneous way.

The program is part of Em Boa Companhia, which hosts guest artists and collectives at Companhia Ensaio Aberto’s headquarters.
