Free performances and a Brazilian dance workshop take place from November 20 to 23 at Armazém da Utopia, part of the Em Boa Companhia project.
Multi-artist Maria Eugênia Tita joins the Em Boa Companhia project, organized by the Companhia Ensaio Aberto, at Armazém da Utopia in Rio de Janeiro. The program includes two performances — “Cabeção pelo Mundo” and “Pássará” — and the “Danças Brasileiras” workshop for actors and dancers. All activities are free of charge.
Free and interactive programming
The “Danças Brasileiras” workshop will take place on November 20, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., offering exercises to expand participants’ body repertoire and develop listening, creativity, and focus through playful and technical approaches.
The performances run from November 21 to 23, with “Cabeção pelo Mundo” at 11 a.m. (an itinerant performance starting from Armazém da Utopia) and “Pássará” at 3 p.m., both designed for audiences of all ages.
“Cabeção pelo Mundo”: a journey through tradition
Created in 2005 for the show Nove de Fevereiro by Antônio Nóbrega, “Cabeção pelo Mundo” pays homage to the frevo rhythm and the “cabeçudos” of Santo Antônio de Odivelas (PA). Over time, it became an independent solo performance by Tita, blending memory, folklore, and humor in a celebration of cultural identity.
“Pássará”: lightness and affection on stage
In collaboration with singer and instrumentalist Cimara Fróis, “Pássará” explores motherhood through dance, music, and improvisation. The show creates a warm atmosphere where audiences are welcomed with tea, blankets, and an environment inclusive for children and families.
“The show aims to soothe mothers and offer a moment of lightness — a time to laugh and connect over something so intense and profound,” says Maria Eugênia Tita.
