The event brings together research and innovation to discuss sustainable solutions and inspire new ideas for the planet’s future. The Museum of Earth Sciences of the Geological Survey of Brazil (MCTer/SGB) takes part in the Climate Science Festival this Friday (14) and Saturday (15). Organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation, the 2025 edition begins at 10 a.m. at Quinta da Boa Vista, in Rio de Janeiro, with free admission.

The MCTer contributes to the program with two initiatives: a booth and a panel. The booth presents the exhibition “Até Onde Vai o Brasil”, part of the traveling show that visited the Minas e Metais Museum in Belo Horizonte. The collection includes geological material collected on the continental shelf by SGB teams in marine geology projects, along with guided activities, microscope observations and storytelling.

The panel “Popularizing Science as a Territorial Strategy for Social Inclusion” features Tomas Lisboa, geosciences researcher and coordinator of the MCTer Education Center. The session highlights the experience of the Museu em Movimento Program in bringing geosciences to society. The panel takes place on Saturday (15) at 10 a.m.

The initiative is part of the Museu em Movimento, the museum’s traveling program, which continues operating during the building’s revitalization.
