Brazilian TV star Miguel Rômulo takes on the role of Jesus in the 31st edition of Floriano’s Passion of Christ, on April 3 and 4 in Piauí, one of Brazil’s most powerful cultural and religious events.
Best known for playing Quincas in the hit soap opera Êta Mundo Melhor! (2025/2026) and for his role in HBO Max’s Dona Beja, Rômulo returns to the stage for his second time portraying Christ — this time before thousands of faithful and tourists at the iconic Teatro Cidade Cenográfica in Floriano, Piauí.
“Playing Jesus on a stage of this magnitude, in a celebration so deeply rooted in the people of Piauí, demands a commitment that goes beyond technique — it is an exercise in profound emotion and respect for the faith of thousands. This is my second time in the Passion of Christ. For an actor, an open-air theater is a rare privilege, and returning now to play Jesus is, above all, a true gift.” — Miguel Rômulo
