A identidade é uma ilha de edição opens Jan 14 at Galeria Lama in Florianópolis, featuring 16 works and a live performance; free admission.
Born in Minas Gerais, artist ciber_org opens Galeria Lama’s 2026 exhibition season in Florianópolis. The show A identidade é uma ilha de edição launches on Wednesday, January 14, from 7 pm, with free admission.
Curated by Débora Pazetto, the exhibition brings together 16 works across multiple formats, including sculpture, installation, video performance, photography and augmented reality. In addition, the project invites bold reflection by reframing everyday objects—such as syringes, hormone vials, gauze, electronic circuits and “testogenic” seeds—turning them into artworks.
Throughout the visit, audiences can see epoxy-resin pieces that encapsulate syringes as archaeological relics of a transition. At the same time, electronic circuits converse with hormones, raising questions about where biology ends and fiction begins.
“I try to challenge notions of identity, embodiment, and the relationship between humans and technology. That’s why I want people to leave the exhibition with fewer certainties and more questions. My works speak to everyone’s right to self-fabulation. After all, fabulating oneself is an act of freedom—and sometimes, survival,” says ciber_org.
Opening-night performance
On opening night, also on Wednesday (Jan 14), the artist presents the performance “Bofe”. Through a performative reading, ciber_org shares singular moments from his life as an LGBT+ person, including the first time a woman read him as a man, his first appointment at Belo Horizonte’s Trans Outpatient Clinic, and his understanding of transmasculine identity beyond the boundaries of the word Man.
Blending humor and social critique, the performance invites the audience to question the limits of what they understand as gender and gender transition.
The program for A identidade é uma ilha de edição also includes two guided tours on January 24, one at 3 pm and another at 7 pm. The finissage is scheduled for Saturday, February 7.
Galeria Lama is located at Rua João Pinto, 198, or Rua Antônio (Nico) Luz, 159, in downtown Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. Visiting is free from Wednesday to Saturday, from 6 pm to midnight.
