Luana Génot and Ana Paula Xongani launch an unfiltered videocast on love, work, and vulnerability — in partnership with YouTube, directed by Tom Mendes.
Real conversations, no performance
On February 10, the pilot episode of “Oi Amiga” premiered — a videocast created by Luana Génot alongside Ana Paula Xongani and directed by Tom Mendes. Produced in collaboration with YouTube, the show was born from a desire to capture honest conversations between two Black women who walk alongside each other, listen deeply, and share their journeys inside and outside of work.
The atmosphere is intimate and spontaneous. Viewers are invited into exchanges that weave together professional backstories, personal narratives, takes on the world, laughter, vulnerability, and hard-won lessons. It feels like sitting in a living room with two friends who hold nothing back.
“Oi Amiga was born from the desire to document real conversations between Black women — unfiltered and without performance. It’s about turning a relationship built on affection and trust into a public space for dialogue, bringing to the forefront exchanges that have long stayed behind the scenes. We talk about work, life, lessons, and vulnerabilities with the ease and lightness that have always been part of how we live.” — Luana Génot, Executive Director of ID_BR and host of “Oi Amiga”
CEOs talking love, sex, and culture
What sets the show apart is precisely what it refuses: surface-level conversation. Ana Paula Xongani — presenter, entrepreneur, and content creator — emphasizes that the videocast reaches far beyond what is typically expected from high-profile Black women in the public eye.
“What makes this show different is that two Black women recognized in the market as CEOs, speakers, and knowledge holders chose to open up about completely different subjects. Viewers will hear us talking about love, sex, and culture, for example. We’re sharing things never seen before — showing our B-side.” — Ana Paula Xongani, presenter, entrepreneur, and content creator
With episodes already available on Luana Génot’s YouTube channel, “Oi Amiga” asserts the significance of claiming spaces for dialogue and care, celebrating Black narratives with depth, authenticity, and joy.
