After touring Europe and Asia, Guilherme Logullo brings back “PAI” to Teatro Glaucio Gill, exploring paternal trauma and healing through art.
Following acclaimed seasons in Armenia, Turkey, and France, the solo play “PAI” returns to Rio de Janeiro for a limited run. Performances will take place on April 8, 15, 22, and 29, Wednesdays at 8 p.m., at Teatro Glaucio Gill in Copacabana.
Directed by Armenian artist Arthur Makaryan, the piece merges real memories with Butoh dance, absurdist theater, and autofiction. The story follows a man confronting the lingering pain of paternal abuse—a raw and poetic reflection on trauma and transformation.
“More than exposing, my wish is to re-signify. To turn pain into art and open paths to liberation,” says Logullo.
Praised by critics and nominated for the Arcanjo de Cultura and Cenyn Awards, Logullo embodies a man trapped between time and memory, facing silence and fleeting tenderness. The piece also bears the “O Teatro me Representa” quality seal for Best Monologue.
Produced by Luar de Abril, the show features set design by Marieta Spada, costumes by Karen Brusttolin, lighting by Paulo Denizot, and an original score by João Paulo Mendonça.
