Starting November 26, 2025, the Centro Cultural Correios Rio de Janeiro hosts the exhibition “Eu aos pedaços ou Ainda assim eu voo” by Patrícia Pedrosa, presenting 20 new works created between 2021 and 2025.
The show includes 16 prints, one video performance, a ceramic piece, an artist book, and a sketchbook. Pedrosa explores memory, scars, and somatized experiences through techniques such as embroidery, collage, stencil, and supports like vellum and fabric.
The female body is central to Pedrosa’s work, turning personal measures and experiences into an intimate cartography. Highlights include an artist book based on Carlos Drummond de Andrade and a ceramic molded from the artist’s own breasts, revisited using the kintsugi concept.
According to Ana Chaves, author of the exhibition’s critical text, “the artist deconstructs her own body’s dimensions in printmaking and expands it into a triple feminine figure, a goddess who makes her life experiences the matter of her art.”
The works explore autobiomorphic concepts, vulnerability, reconstruction, and combine anatomy, fantasy, and experience, revealing layers of memory and transformation.
The exhibition runs until January 17, 2026, with free admission from Tuesday to Saturday, 12 PM to 7 PM, at Centro Cultural Correios (Rua Visconde de Itaboraí, 20, Centro – Rio de Janeiro).
Patrícia Pedrosa (1971, São Gonçalo – RJ) is a printmaker, lecturer at EBA/UFRJ, holds a PhD in Visual Arts, and received an Honorable Mention at the Kitchen Print Biennale de l’estampe (France, 2025).
