The Pedra Rubra Collective presents the free play “Women of Pedra Rubra” at Roosevelt Square on November 30 at 3 PM.
Next Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 3 PM, the Pedra Rubra Collective will give a free performance at Franklin Roosevelt Square in downtown São Paulo.
Blending fiction and reality, the play offers a sensitive look at the daily life of women from the city’s outskirts.
The performance addresses social, racial and gender inequalities based on real-life inspired stories.
Inspired by the Interlagos territory, surrounded by rivers and the Billings Reservoir, the story unfolds on an imaginary island.
In this symbolic setting, a female community faces the Sussuarans, invisible giants who impose a harmful new order.
The dramaturgy blends social criticism with poetic elements, revealing paths of resistance.
Women of the Hustle Project
The actions are part of the project “Women of the Hustle – From Inglorious Struggles the Sun Is Born Every Day”.
The project was selected by the 42nd Municipal Theatre Funding Program of São Paulo.
The initiative marks the collective’s ten years of activity.
The proposal reflects on the question “What does it mean to be a woman in the outskirts today?”.
The project highlights women who face everyday challenges of work and care.
