“Anti-Nelson Rodrigues” dramatized readings feature Bel Wilker, Daniel Dantas, and Peréio heirs at Sesc Tijuca on Jan 14, in Peréio exhibit.
Families revive 1974 play
The third installment of readings from the “Peréio – Semana que vem eu me organizo” exhibit spotlights “Anti-Nelson Rodrigues” (1974). On January 14 at Sesc Tijuca, actors tied to the original cast take the stage. Bel Wilker, José Wilker’s daughter, joins Daniel Dantas, Nelson Dantas’s son.
Peréio’s niece Nina Velho and granddaughter Maya Tyszler (with Neila Tavares) participate. Original cast member Carlos Gregório returns. Director João Velho plays his father’s role, bridging eras.
Cast and revival
Isabel Wilker as Oswaldinho; Elisa Lucinda as Tereza; Daniel Dantas as Gastão; Carlos Gregório as Leleco. João Velho is Salim Simão, with Maya Tyszler as Joice, Luciana Domschke as her mother, and Nina Velho as Hele Nice. The cycle revives Peréio-linked texts, penned by Nelson Rodrigues for Neila Tavares.
The Sesc Tijuca exhibit showcases Peréio’s theater, film, and TV legacy. Curated by sons Thomaz and João Velho, it uses readings to spark scenic memory. Final session: Feb 11, “O Analista de Bagé”.
