Rescued dogs and cats are looking for a home this Saturday, Feb. 21, at Carioca Shopping’s Pet Adoption Fair, starting at 2 PM.
Carioca Shopping, in Rio de Janeiro’s Vila da Penha neighborhood, is once again opening its doors to anyone ready to change a life. In partnership with ONG Entre Pegadas, the mall hosts a new edition of its Pet Adoption Fair this Saturday — free admission, real stories, and animals of all kinds waiting for a forever home.
A second chance that fits in any home
Every animal at the fair has a story of abandonment behind them. Now they wait for a family willing to offer care, patience, and love. The event is part of Carioca Shopping’s ongoing social and environmental commitment, reinforcing its role as a pet-friendly space that supports animal welfare in Rio.

Responsible adoption: what to bring
To ensure every pet goes to a prepared home, prospective adopters must be over 21 years old and present a valid ID, CPF (Brazilian tax ID), and proof of address — originals and copies required. All candidates go through an interview with the NGO’s team before completing the adoption.
The screening process is designed to protect both the animals and the families, setting the foundation for a lasting and healthy bond.
About ONG Entre Pegadas
Founded in 2015, ONG Entre Pegadas is dedicated to animal protection, raising awareness about spaying, neutering, and responsible pet ownership. Since 2016, the organization has maintained continuous outreach around the CEASA-RJ area, facilitating thousands of adoptions and sterilization procedures for rescued dogs and cats.
