Carioca Shopping hosts another edition of its Pet Adoption Fair in partnership with NGO Entre Pegadas. The event takes place on the 2nd floor, near the Renner store, bringing together animals that have faced abandonment — all waiting for families ready to offer love and commitment.

A second chance for every animal

The fair is part of the shopping center’s ongoing social calendar and reflects its commitment to animal welfare. As a pet-friendly space, Carioca Shopping opens its doors to connections that can change lives — for both the animals and the families who welcome them.

“Every adoption represents a second chance. It is a simple gesture, but one capable of completely changing the lives of these animals.”

Michelle Coutinho, Marketing Manager at Carioca Shopping

How to adopt responsibly

To ensure each pet goes to a suitable home, the responsible adoption process has clear requirements. Prospective adopters must be over 21 years old and present original documents along with copies. All candidates also go through an interview with NGO staff before the adoption is finalized.

Required documents: government-issued ID, CPF (Brazilian tax ID), and proof of address.

NGO Entre Pegadas: years of dedication to animals

Founded in 2015, NGO Entre Pegadas works to protect animals through awareness campaigns on responsible guardianship and spaying and neutering. Since 2016, the organization has maintained continuous work in the CEASA-RJ area, enabling thousands of adoptions and sterilization procedures. Their work has made a direct impact on the well-being and dignity of rescued dogs and cats across Rio de Janeiro.
