Porão Cultural presents “O Mal Dito” and “Filhas de Lilith” in November

The São Paulo venue hosts plays, workshops and opens a call for photographers to collaborate with Porão Cultural.

Porão Cultural, located in Barra Funda, São Paulo, presents a diverse November program featuring theater, workshops, and an open call for photographers. On November 28 and 29 at 9 p.m., the venue stages “O Mal Dito”, an original creation by Fransérgio Araújo. The play explores a man tormented by existence and the search for meaning, blending intensity and poetic expression inspired by revolutionary poet Mayakovsky.

Theater and literary debut

On November 30 at 6 p.m., and on December 2 and 4 at 9 p.m., Porão presents open rehearsals of “Filhas de Lilith”, inspired by Bruna Ferraroli’s book of the same name, which will be launched during the event. Each ticket includes a copy of the publication. The play tells the story of three women who encounter a divinity that challenges them to question social and religious norms, addressing patriarchy, sexism, and femicide.

Artistic activities and workshops

The Escutar Lab takes place on November 8 and 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering Contact Improvisation training led by Vinicius Todorov. Every Thursday at 8 p.m., Circo no Porão welcomes circus artists, musicians, and masters of ceremonies in an open variety show format.

Open call for photographers

The Porão Cultural Photo Club is seeking photographers to collaborate on Sunday events. The partnership includes unlimited studio and equipment use for personal projects, as well as participation in grant-funded productions. Applicants must be over 18 and available on Sundays.

Ongoing activities and courses

Regular classes at Porão include guitar, singing, contemporary dance, sculpture, and drawing, in addition to literary gatherings like the Book Club with Jane Oliveira and creative writing workshops led by Tiago Bode and Naomi Lustosa.

The Life Drawing sessions continue with various formats, such as single-pose, Drink and Draw, and performance sessions. The venue also hosts the monthly Art & Thrift Fair, featuring new curators and artists.
