A growing commitment

Porto Itapoá has established itself as one of the leading sponsors of social and cultural projects in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. For 2026, the port terminal allocated R$ 12.9 million across 49 projects in culture, sports, healthcare, and social inclusion — up from R$ 10.7 million invested in 51 projects the previous year.

Since 2015, the port has invested a total of R$ 36 million in initiatives benefiting Itapoá and surrounding communities. That track record places the company in 4th position in Santa Catarina’s ranking of businesses that invest the most through cultural incentive legislation.

Local roots, local impact

Of the total invested in 2026, more than R$ 3 million goes directly to projects based in Itapoá. The remaining 44 initiatives take place in the city or elsewhere in the state, but all include benefits for the local community.

Joinville Vôlei, a top volleyball club, runs a youth training school in Itapoá thanks to the partnership. The Musicarium project provides scholarships for local children and teenagers. Other initiatives support elderly residents, people with disabilities, and cancer prevention and treatment programs.

“Our focus is to invest in initiatives that strengthen, above all, the territory where we operate, generating real impact in culture, sports, health, inclusion, and the development of future generations.” — Ricardo Arten, CEO of Porto Itapoá

Civil society partnerships

The port builds its social agenda through partnerships with nonprofits and specialized organizations, covering a broad spectrum of community needs. The strategy reflects Porto Itapoá’s vision of being more than a logistics hub — it positions the terminal as a driver of human development across northern Santa Catarina.
