A puma was recorded in Iguaçu National Park on February 9 along the road to the falls. The animal is monitored by the local project and has cubs.
Tour guide captured the sighting
The sighting happened on the afternoon of February 9, as visitors drove along the park road toward Iguazu Falls. Tour guide Pedro Henrique Canal was working in the park and recorded the moment.
Coordinators from the Onças do Iguaçu project said the puma is already known to the monitoring team and has cubs.
What to do if you see wildlife on the road
Transport guidance for wildlife protection, reinforced by Urbia+Cataratas and Brazil’s Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), sets a speed limit of 40 km/h inside the park.
If an animal appears on the roadway, drivers should stop safely, turn on hazard lights, and wait until the animal has fully crossed before continuing.
