From November 19 to 27, CCBB São Paulo hosts Quilombo Groove – Prayers, Praises and Drums from the Quilombo do Curiaú. The free event brings the ancestral strength of Amapá to the historic center, blending Marabaixo and Batuque with spirituality, art and Black resistance.

The program features concerts, workshops, talks, storytelling and a photo exhibition that highlights the symbolism of the Quilombo do Curiaú. After touring Brasília, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro, the project arrives in São Paulo with a full schedule.

Artists such as Brenda Melo, MC Deeh, Pretogonista, Paulinho Bastos, Capitão Pupunha and the Raízes do Bolão Group lead performances that connect quilombola rhythms with urban sounds. The photographic exhibition “Prayers, Praises and Drums”, by Paulo Rocha, reinforces the visual and spiritual identity of Curiaú.

The project celebrates memory and Afro-Amazonian identity, honoring traditions that shape Brazilian culture.
