Having drawn over 600,000 theatergoers on tour, Rafael Portugal takes the Qualistage stage on April 4 at the Festival Humor Contra-Ataca 2026.
The evening opens with Priscila Castello Branco and starts at 9 PM. It is one of the most anticipated shows of the festival’s final stretch, which has been running in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, since January 17.
Seventy minutes of non-stop laughter
In his solo show “Tô Só Desabafando” — loosely translated as “I Just Need to Vent” — Rafael moves fluidly between classic stand-up, live improvisation, and sketch comedy. The set draws from personal stories, behind-the-scenes TV moments, and unlikely episodes from his career, all delivered with the trademark spontaneity that keeps audiences coming back.
The roughly 70-minute runtime never loses momentum. The balance between scripted material and improvisation is precisely what gives the show its distinctive energy.
From Rio’s West Zone to international stages
Raised in Realengo, a neighborhood in Rio’s West Zone, Rafael points to his roots as the foundation of his comedic voice.
“The show carries the influence of what I lived and still live in the West Zone. Realengo shaped everything in my humor. My friends from there are way funnier than I am.”
— Rafael Portugal
This same week, he departs for Portugal to kick off a new international leg of the tour. The show recently surpassed 100,000 tickets sold in a single year.
A career built on TV and live stages
Rafael Portugal rose to national fame through work with the comedy collective Porta dos Fundos, the show “A Culpa é do Cabral”, and recurring appearances on CAT BBB, broadcast on TV Globo. With more than 600,000 spectators across Brazilian theaters, he is widely regarded as one of the most charismatic voices in Brazilian comedy today.
