Rio Christmas launches on November 30 at Botafogo Cove with 80-meter tree lit by 2.3 million LEDs, samba shows and free food village.
From 5 p.m., fireworks light the new summer symbol. Samba Orchestra, led by Pretinho da Serrinha, welcomes special guest Belo. The meeting celebrates samba’s power with percussive sophistication and romantic voice.
Party continues with DJ Tamy and food village curated by Ana and Pedro Vidal. On opening night, 13 trucks and 2 carts offer Rio flavors like Confeitaria Itajaí and Brewteco.
“We chose varied, affordable and high-quality options representing Rio”, explains Pedro Vidal.
Diverse programming
From November 30 to January 6, free event features pocket shows, samba, lights and water ballet from 7 p.m. to midnight. Highlights include Nego Álvaro (12/6), Santa’s Block (12/21) and Taylor’s Forró (12/28).

Access via tunnels at Rua São Clemente and Edifício Argentina. Produced by Accioly Participações, creative direction by Abel Gomes (SRCOM). Expects over 650 thousand visitors.
