A week of live music at the heart of Lapa
Rio Scenarium, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most beloved cultural venues, opens another vibrant week of programming on Rua do Lavradio, in the historic Lapa neighborhood. From Thursday through Saturday, its antique-filled rooms host established names and rising talents across samba de raiz, choro, axé, and gafieira — the musical soul of Rio.
Thursday: Enzo Belmonte and half-price entry for all
On Thursday (April 9), singer Enzo Belmonte takes the Palco Scenarium stage from 8 PM to midnight with a set rooted in Brazilian cultural identity and ancestry. Thursdays come with a special perk: every guest pays half price. Tickets are R$20.
Friday: Diana Rose, Banda Show, and Inácio Rios
Friday (April 10) kicks off at 7:30 PM with the vibrant set of Diana Rose & Banda Show, blending classic samba and axé until 10 PM. Then Inácio Rios takes over from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM with a mix of traditional samba and original hits. Tickets start at R$25.
Saturday: feijoada, Dandara Alves, and the Vila Isabel drum corps
Saturday (April 11) begins with a festive afternoon. From noon to 6 PM, Dandara Alves performs live during the house’s traditional feijoada — Brazil’s beloved black bean stew — covering everything from samba de raiz to axé. Tickets start at R$75 with the feijoada meal included.
The evening raises the stakes. Grupo Mvúka opens at 8 PM, followed by Adilson da Vila at 10:30 PM, both setting the stage for the night’s highlight: the thunderous Bateria da Unidos de Vila Isabel, celebrating 80 years of Carnival legacy, performing until 1:30 AM. Tickets start at R$30.
