“Salvador by Caetano Veloso” offers a literary and musical journey

Inspired by Verdade Tropical, online project invites readers to explore Caetano Veloso’s music and memories starting December 2.

Salvador, the heart of Bahia, sets the stage for “A Salvador de Caetano Veloso – Uma leitura imersiva,” a journey that blends music, literature, and memory. The project invites participants to rediscover the city through the pages of Verdade Tropical and the songs that define Caetano Veloso’s artistic legacy.

Created by NomadRoots, a company specializing in knowledge-based travel experiences, the project includes six pre-recorded sessions and one live meeting, all guided by writer and professor Chico Escorsim. Offered entirely online, the course is part of ClubeNomad’s Holiday Series and connects Caetano’s story to Brazil’s cultural and social transformations.

“Reading Caetano means understanding the Brazil he sings. The city, the poetry, and the music become one single narrative,” says Escorsim.

From virtual reading to real-life journey

In March 2026, after the online phase, participants will experience a guided trip through Salvador, revisiting places that shaped Caetano’s creative world. From the hills of the Historic Center to the landscapes of Brazil’s musical history, the tour also honors artists like Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, Gal Costa, and Dorival Caymmi.

The immersive reading follows key moments of Caetano’s life and art, such as Elvis and Marilyn, Tropicália, and Araçá Azul, complemented by playlists and multimedia materials that extend the aesthetic and emotional experience.

“More than a literary activity, ‘A Salvador de Caetano Veloso – Uma leitura imersiva’ reaffirms ClubeNomad’s philosophy: to travel is to read, and each book can mark the beginning of a new symbolic and real journey,” Escorsim adds.
