Sebrae relaunches Top 100 Award and unveils new craft data

During Artisan Month, CRAB Sebrae reveals new research on Brazil’s craft sector and launches the new National Craft Portal.

Sebrae celebrates Artisan Day (March 19) with a special event at the Centro Sebrae de Referência do Artesanato Brasileiro (CRAB) in Rio’s Praça Tiradentes. On March 24–25, experts, designers, and artisans will discuss innovation, heritage, and the creative economy. The agenda includes the release of a landmark study, the launch of CRAB’s new online platform, and the return of the Top 100 Brazilian Craft Award.

The Top 100 Craft Award

Brazil’s most recognized craft award highlights excellence among artisans. Eligible participants include entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and associations. Winners receive national recognition and the official Top 100 label, strengthening the value and visibility of Brazilian handmade art.

Exclusive research by Unisinos

Sebrae will present a unique survey conducted by Unisinos University, mapping the country’s artisans by number, income, education, gender, and regional distribution. According to CRAB coordinator Natalia Lorenzetti, the data connects the craft segment to wider economic indicators, reinforcing its relevance to Brazil’s economy.

New CRAB Portal

The new CRAB website, launching on March 25, will serve as a strategic hub for Brazilian crafts. It features interactive maps, sector studies, sustainability reports, and curated content for artisans and researchers.

Panels and discussions

Panels will bring together names such as Sergio Mattos, Augusto Ribeiro, and Joel Silva to debate themes like circular economy, creative education, and the intersection of tradition and technology in craftwork.
