On March 11, rappers Sombra and Cris SNJ take the stage at Sesc 24 de Maio to celebrate the 30-year legacy of SNJ (Somos Nós a Justiça). The concert blends classic hits of Brazilian rap with solo works from both artists, bridging eras of resistance and creativity.

Founded in 1996 in Guarulhos, SNJ became a cornerstone of Brazilian hip-hop. Despite lineup changes, the duo keeps the group’s essence alive: socially conscious rhymes and lyrical activism. The setlist features tracks from landmark albums such as Se Tu Lutas, Tu Conquistas (2000) and O Show Deve Continuar (2003).

Artists who shaped the scene

Sombra, an original member, is known for his poetic wordplay and distinctive flow that redefined 1990s rap. Cris SNJ, a prominent voice from São Paulo’s South Side, joined in 2003 and became a leading figure for women in Brazilian hip-hop.
