Suzy Brasil brings new horror-comedy “Uma Noite Horripilante” to Miguel Falabella Theatre

Suzy Brasil premieres the new horror-comedy show “Uma Noite Horripilante” at Teatro Miguel Falabella, in Norte Shopping, for two performances only on 6 and 7 December.

The drag queen’s latest project, created with writer and actor Marcelo Souza, is described as “frighteningly funny” and features both brand-new characters and fan favourites.

Performances take place on Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 8 p.m.

The show reinforces Suzy Brasil’s presence on the comedy scene, following strong audience recognition and award-winning work.

From LOL and the internet to the stage

The cast of characters includes figures made popular on Amazon Prime’s comedy show “LOL – Last One Laughing Brasil”, where Suzy was runner-up in the third season in 2023.

Characters born on social media also gain new life on stage in this production.

The creative team reunites Diogo Camargos, Claudio Tizo and Jonatan Fonseca, partners since the 2021 hit “Bye Bye Bangu” and the touring show “Made in Brasil”, which has played to packed houses.

For “Bye Bye Bangu”, Suzy Brasil received the PRIO Humor Award 2023 for Best Performance in Rio de Janeiro.

Adults-only Snow White on a quest for a straight kiss

With a fast-paced narrative and quick costume changes, Marcelo Souza portrays six different characters to tell an adults-only version of Snow White.

In this twisted fairy tale, the princess embarks on a quest to receive a kiss from a truly straight man.

The show opens with an old storyteller who, after recounting macabre tales, decides to calm the audience with the story of a beautiful princess.

Souza’s already-famous drunken Snow White gains new layers as she enters an enchanted realm guarded by the larger-than-life Naja QUE PICA.

The snake queen, another character familiar to LOL viewers, acts as the gatekeeper of this offbeat world.

The cast of characters also includes pastor Gimilde, a disguise adopted by the evil stepmother, and Ivo Ativo, the reluctant prince charming who refuses to kiss Snow White and wake her.

Even without the kiss, a zombie Snow White awakens 300 years later, combining traits of a fairy-tale princess and a possessed girl, echoing another iconic Suzy character from LOL.

Satire, horror and fairy tales for grown-ups

“Uma Noite Horripilante” caters to audiences who enjoy humour, sharp satire and irreverent takes on classic fairy tales.

The new production offers a markedly different approach from anything fans of Suzy Brasil and Marcelo Souza have seen so far.

By blending horror tropes, queer humour and playful references, the show aims to surprise regular followers and first-time viewers alike.
