“The Banquet in Eden” celebrates 25 years of Grupo Trapo

Grupo Trapo celebrates 25 years with “The Banquet in Eden”, turning the mythic garden into a ritual of body, memory, and desire.

After critical and audience acclaim in 2023, Grupo Trapo returns to the stage for a special March season of The Banquet in Eden. Performances take place from March 6 to 28, 2026, every Friday and Saturday at 8:30 pm, at Nosso Canto Espaço de Arte e Cultura in São Paulo.

Directed and conceived by Muriel Vittorea, the production reaffirms theater as a space for encounter and ritual. The work reimagines the myth of Eden as a metaphor for human conflict, transforming paradise into a territory of memory, desire, and physical intensity.

With a hybrid language blending performance and epic theater, the show builds a scenic game centered on the dinner table — a stage of coexistence and rupture. The performers’ physical intensity and the symbolic imagery create a dense, visceral atmosphere where body and myth merge.
