The Instituto Unicirco Marcos Frota kicks off its holiday season with extended hours. Until February 8, the circus musical “Alegrai” delights audiences at Quinta da Boa Vista in São Cristóvão.

“Alegrai” Honors Brazilian Traditions

Shows run on weekends and the January 20 holiday, always at 4 p.m. The production pays tribute to carnivals, street parties, playground songs, and popular festivities.

Clowning, acrobatics, dance, and music deliver fun and learning for children. The program is sponsored by the Rio de Janeiro State Government through the Culture Incentive Law, Petrobras Socioambiental, and Federal Government.

“Alegrai” reveres Brazilian popular culture, reviving the affectionate memory of carnivals, street parties, playground songs, and festivities that shape Brazilian identity.

To attend, pick up free tickets at the box office from 2 p.m. on the event day. Arrive 40 minutes early, as capacity is limited to 1,500 people.
