A debut that speaks to a generation

Brazilian musical theater welcomes a new voice: Vitor Vaimberg makes his debut in Hadassa, playing Benjamin, the older brother of the show’s protagonist. The production weaves together Warsaw in 1939 and the biblical story of Queen Esther, delivering an immersive 180-minute journey through memory, faith, and resilience.

The story unfolds through the eyes of a young autistic girl who bears witness to the courage of the Jewish people amid fear and uncertainty. Hadassa transforms collective pain into a powerful anthem of hope — and invites audiences to reflect on empathy, history, and identity.

Eight years of preparation for a meaningful role

For Vitor Vaimberg, this debut is the result of years of dedication. He began his acting career at age 8 in the children’s play A Arca dos Bichos, directed by Renata Maia, and has since trained extensively at the Wolf Maia School of Arts. He recently completed a directing course in New York, adding another dimension to his craft.

I consider this my true entry into musical theater. I am deeply honored to take this first step, representing my people and my ancestors.

He also shared his excitement for what lies ahead: “I hope this project marks the beginning of a long and fulfilling career doing what I love — and I hope I never lose the butterflies I’m feeling right now!”

Season across Rio de Janeiro

Hadassa runs across multiple venues in Rio de Janeiro and the greater metropolitan area throughout April and May 2026. The show carries a recommended age rating of 14 and over.
