Directed by Dani Angelotti, “Felicidade” blends theater, music, and comics with Zeca Baleiro and Martha Nowill in São Paulo.
The comedy “Felicidade”, written by Caco Galhardo and directed by Dani Angelotti, premieres on January 7, 2026, at Teatro Sérgio Cardoso in São Paulo. The production features live musical direction by Zeca Baleiro, performing alongside Martha Nowill, Eduardo Estrela, Luisa Micheletti, Nilton Bicudo, and Willians Mezzacapa.
Inspired by Tom Zé’s song “Vai (Menina Amanhã de Manhã)”, the play merges music, theater, and comic art to tell the story of a journalist who wakes up inexplicably happy, exploring the conflicts between personal joy and societal expectations.
“This mix of artistic languages allows audiences to experience layered emotions and creativity,” explains Dani Angelotti, who conceived the show alongside Martha Nowill.
For Zeca Baleiro, who began his career writing for children’s theater, the role connects his music to stage performance. “I’m not an actor; what I do is channel my stage persona — a singing angel, a guide of destinies,” he says.
Happiness through humor and reflection
Leading actress Martha Nowill, in her third collaboration with Caco Galhardo, highlights the play’s surreal yet political tone. “The piece explores collective happiness — how can one feel joy in a world full of sadness? The more people are happy, the more happiness grows,” she says.
With live percussion by Layla Silva, the show features an original score by Zeca Baleiro. The production is by Morente Forte Produções Teatrais, celebrating 40 years in theater, in partnership with Cubo Produções.
