Ziriguidum Food Fair closes 2025 with live forró, samba, and dance workshop at General Osório Square.
To close out the year, the Ziriguidum Food Fair is preparing a special edition to celebrate 2025 with lots of music and joy. On Sunday, December 28, starting at 10 a.m., General Osório Square, in Ipanema, will host a pre-New Year’s party featuring forró and samba, great food, and an energetic atmosphere at the beloved Feira Hippie.
Forró, samba, and dance workshop
The program kicks off at noon with a lively forró workshop led by Juliana Pereira, accompanied by Neidinha and her forró trio, who set the beat while the crowd learns and dances together. In between, DJ Xokito keeps the rhythm going with upbeat sets.
At 5 p.m., the Terreiro do Cantagalo group takes over with lots of traditional samba, wrapping up the celebration with that unmistakable Rio de Janeiro vibe and cheerful end-of-year energy. Guests are encouraged, though not required, to dress in white to match the New Year’s spirit.
Food and festive atmosphere
In addition to the music, the fair brings together the best of local cuisine, offering delicious food, cold beer, and the relaxed atmosphere that only General Osório Square can provide. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather friends, celebrate the end of the year, and welcome 2026 in style.
