The Cacique de Ramos hosts its 144th Feijoada on Nov 16, celebrating Black culture and men’s health with music and tradition.
On Sunday, November 16, starting at 1 p.m., the Cacique de Ramos holds its 144th Feijoada at its headquarters on Rua Uranos 1326, Olaria – Rio de Janeiro, with free admission. This special edition pays tribute to Black Awareness Month and launches the Blue November campaign, combining cultural pride and health awareness.
A tribute to heritage and equality
Recognized as one of Brazil’s most important cultural institutions, Cacique de Ramos has spent over six decades promoting the legacy of Afro-Brazilian heritage through art, music and community. The event reinforces the message of equality, dignity and respect for the Black community.
The Blue November campaign will also be highlighted, raising awareness about prostate cancer prevention and men’s health. Official campaign shirts are available at the bloc’s boutique.
Music, tradition and celebration
The stage will feature performances that blend tradition and renewal. Groups Caciqueando and Força da Cor perform alongside Margarete Mendes, Priscila Gouvêa, Ale Maria and Mario Neto, as well as Samba do Denis and Samba da Feira. Together, they celebrate the spirit of samba through rhythm, resistance and joy.
The feijoada will be served from 1 p.m. at R$35 per plate, with a barbecue buffet option also available. The program includes the participation of the Curumim and Glória Caciqueana Courts, the banner parade and the presence of the Reunited Wings, a hallmark of Cacique’s carnival tradition.
Memory Center open to visitors
Throughout the afternoon, visitors can explore the Cacique de Ramos Memory Center, which preserves the history and legacy of one of Brazil’s most influential cultural movements.
